The purpose of this Super Group is to give your child an additional opportunity to study, learn, and play chess. Each 2 hour session will be divided into 3 parts:
First, we will play a “notated” game
Second, we will analyze those games
Third, we will cover a special Chess topic
Our special topic lessons will include things beyond the normal school club tactics: such as thinking positionally, understanding player psychology, how to prepare openings, clock management for tournaments, and endgame analysis/puzzles.
Occasionally, to sharpen other player skills, we will also offer alternative forms of chess such as Blitz, Bughouse, or Best Move Dynamics (anticipating your opponent and countering beforehand; such as Aron Nimzowitsche’s famous concept of “prophylaxis” or preventive defense, etc.)
