This Tempe module of Foundations of Tactical Mastery w/ Coach Ben Vinyard (USCF 1859) develops strong defensive technique: avoiding blunders, meeting threats, and turning defense into counterplay.

Stay calm under pressure and defend like a master.

• How to avoid blunders before they happen
• Principles of active defense and counterattack
• Spotting the opponent’s threats quickly and accurately
• What we can learn from how neural networks defend

No class on May 10 (Mother’s Day).
