What is the pricing?

The assessment is a one-time fee of $39.50. Classes are $99.50-$124.50 per month for 4 sessions. We will pro-rate your first month. You are welcome to register for additional class sessions in sets of 4. Registration is month-to-month; however we offer an autopay option for your convenience.

What age/skill level is appropriate for these classes?

We welcome all ages from kindergarten to 8th grade.
The Chess4Life program is designed to challenge and educate students of all levels from beginner to advanced. By keeping a detailed chart on each student and dividing students into levels, we can offer highly individualized lesson plans that target what every student needs to move forward.

My child is brand-new to chess; do I need an assessment?

Yes; the assessment for students who are brand-new to chess is basically an introduction to the fundamentals they'll need prior to walking into their first class. The goal of the game, how the pieces move, and basic game mechanics are some of the subjects that will be covered in the assessment.

When are your classes?

Our classes run year-round and are held throughout the week on evenings and weekends. Click here for a full schedule.

What if I have to miss a class?

Notice of an absence (by phone or email) must be given by the night before the class in order to be eligible for a makeup. Makeup classes can be taken whenever we offer another class at your child's level. As with absences, makeups must be scheduled by the night before and cannot exceed class capacity (12 students max). Makeups must be redeemed in the same month or next month, assuming continuous enrollment. (Makeups are not redeemable as store credit.)
