Fall Road to Nationals: Coaches Paul Kanis (USCF: 1975) and Ben Vinyard (USCF:1858) (70th/Shea)
Dear Parents,
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for your child to embark on a journey into the world of chess mastery! Our intensive chess training program, led by coaches Paul Kanis (USCF: 1975) and Ben Vinyard (USCF: 1858) aims to prepare your child for the upcoming K-8 Nationals tournament to be held May 15th-17th, 2026 in Round Rock, TX. As well for those students interested in playing in the International Youth Chess Tournament in Las Vegas June 10th-14th, 2026.
Chess is not just a game; it's a strategic and intellectual pursuit that fosters valuable life skills such as discipline, problem-solving abilities, and focus. Our carefully designed curriculum focuses on essential chess strategies and principles, empowering your child with the knowledge and confidence needed to excel in these high-profile tournaments.
Beyond the pursuit of victory, these competitions offer an enriching environment of competition and camaraderie. Your child will create cherished memories and make friends from all corners of the chess world. This immersive experience will propel their personal growth and enhance their passion for the game.
We invite you to enroll your child in this adventure of intellect and fun. They will not only compete but also learn and grow as individuals. We believe that the skills they develop during this program will serve them well in all aspects of their lives.
In this specialized class, students will participate in a 2-hour class on Mondays covering chess theory including openings, middlegames, and endgames, then on Wednesdays your child will play a 10-round USCF rated tournament so they can receive or improve on their existing USCF national chess rating followed by full game analysis.
If you have any questions or would like more information about the program, feel free to call our staff at 602-482-4867 or reach out to Coaches Paul Kanis and/or Ben Vinyard directly and they will provide additional details and address any concerns you may have.
